Business Analyst / Project Manager, Technology Projects | In-house, Client Side | Geelong

Leading fashion retailer. On-site 4 days per week in Geelong. Day 5 is flexible - Geelong (again), Melbourne CBD office or Remote.

The Business Analyst (BA) / Project Manager (PM) is responsible for undertaking various forms of analysis related to the delivery of technology-based projects. In addition, the BA/PM will undertake various levels of project management, ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget and to the agreed quality. 

Requirements:

Project Delivery

  • Ensuring the project scope is delivered to the right quality, within timeline and budget
  • Documenting project objectives and ROI goals
  • Maintaining a detailed project plan
  • Working with IT, supplier and business teams gain agreement of the project plan
  • Escalate issues and risks with the project plan as necessary to ensure project success
  • On a weekly basis, document the project status, risks and issues
  • Manage project resourcing, changes to scope, risks, issues and the communication plan. 
  • Document with formal approval as necessary, changes to project scope, cost/timelines
  • Identify and anticipate obstacles and plan solutions to reduce risk to project
  • Communicate the agreed level of status reporting and share with stakeholders

Requirements Analysis

  • Undertake business analysis and requirements workshops with business and IT
  • Clearly capture and convey all requirements (including non-functional requirements) to business teams, developers and third party suppliers
  • Identify and document any change in systems or process
  • Capture and include all business changes as part of the project plan
  • Identify other system and process improvements or optimisations monthly
  • Implement agreed improvements to current processes

Solutions Implementation

  • Validate that implementation is completed according to the requirements
  • Create comprehensive test plans for the testing phases of a project to timelines
  • Run testing either with internal or third party resources
  • Manage the issue list to ensure bugs are accurately logged and prioritised
  • Agree project implementation timeframe and manage delivery of work packages
  • Ensure project change control is captured, documented and appropriately escalated
  • Deliver a handover to Support and Operations of the system or additional functionality
  • Manage the project, project resources, changes to scope, risks and issues
  • Complete level 3 escalation and support for your domain as necessary

Communication & Relationships

  • Escalate issues and concerns in a timely fashion to the Project Team or Line Manager
  • Build solid working relationships with stakeholders
  • Frequently meet with stakeholders to discuss ongoing processes, field questions, and provide guidance
  • Demonstrate, through examples, the trust of Business Partners
